Before becoming chancellor\, he served in the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate\, where he chaired the Senate Committee on Education (K 16)\, where he led major reforms in public and higher education\, including the creation of the Texas University Fund providing sustained\, long-term funding support for emerging public universities.\n\nGuided by West Texas values and a commitment to sustained growth\, Creighton is focused on positioning the system as a national leader in research\, innovation\, and opportunity\, ensuring its universities remain a driving force behind Texas' strength and prosperity for decades to come.
