DESCRIPTION:The East Lubbock Community Alliance\, 100 Black Men of West Texas and the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will host a Chiefs' Reception honoring Fire Chief Shaun Fogerson and Police Chief Floyd Mitchell on Thurs.\, Nov. 14 from 5:30   7 p.m. at the Bayer Museum of Agriculture.\n\n\n\nThank you to our Presenting Sponsor Lubbock National Bank and our Platinum Sponsor Atmos Energy!\n\n\n\nChief Fogerson joined Lubbock Fire Rescue in 1992 and was officially appointed to Chief this past May. Fogerson holds a bachelor's degree\, magna cum laude\, from Texas Tech University\, a Texas Commission on Fire Protection Advanced Firefighter Certification and is currently participating in the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program. He is a United States Marine Corp veteran and holds several commendations for service from Lubbock Fire Rescue\, including the Medal of Valor. \n\n\n\nChief Mitchell has more than 29 years of law enforcement experience and will begin his new role as Lubbock Police Chief this coming Monday. He was previously the chief of police in Temple. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and began his law enforcement career in Kansas City\, Missouri. He earned both a Masters and Bachelors of Business Administration from Baker University. Chief Mitchell is a Master Certified Peace Officer in Texas and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.\n\n\n\nThe reception is free and open to the Lubbock community.
