DESCRIPTION:The area that is now modern Spain was home to "Las Tres Culturas\," Christians\, Muslims\, and Jews\, who coexisted in relative peace for many centuries. Due to extreme persecution promoted by the Inquisition\, the Sephardic (Spanish) Jewish culture was forced underground but was never completely forgotten. This short course will bring to light a bit of this history and the rich collection of music that has survived.
