About Us
Miller Waldrop Furniture and Decor was established in 1952 by its founders Barney Waldrop and Alex Miller. Barney, who worked at the Sears Furniture department, had a dream of owning his own business, bringing top quality home furnishings to a small town in southeastern New Mexico. He convinced his friend Alex to join him and the dream was born.
Fast forward 60 years to Third Generation Owners and Operators Kent & Beckey Waldrop. The couple has been working in the business for the last 30 years, and the passion hasn’t changed. The Waldrops have been honored to receive several industry awards, including Retailer of the Year by National Home Furnishings Association. No matter what generation you find at your local store, experiencing something unique, unusual and most of all exceptional, is what Miller Waldrop Furniture and Decor will always be about.
The family has been honored to grow the business into three locations, opening up a second store in Ruidoso, New Mexico in 2012 and a third store in Lubbock, TX in 2021. At all of the locations, you’ll find Mattress First and The Outlet: two retail concepts that are designed with you in mind. At Mattress First, you’ll experience up and coming technology to pair you with the perfect mattress. Our Sleep Experts are passionate about your well-being and are determined to help you find the best sleep of your life. At The Outlet, you’ll find the same styles and service you love about Miller Waldrop, at a lower price point to suit your needs, no matter where you find yourself in life.
