About Us

The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, organized in October 1946, was entirely a volunteer effort until becoming a professional organization with paid musicians in 1967. The LSO is classified by the American Symphony Orchestra League as a group VI Orchestra. It boasts a nationally-known conductor, a full-time professional administrative staff and dozens of talented professional musicians.
