The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) would like to cordially invite you to “Dia de Ciencias” at the Science Spectrum and OMNI Theater on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. This FREE event will feature Texas Tech University’s student organizations as they display STEM based activities to K-12 attendees and their families. SHPE’s goal with Dia de Ciencias is grouped into three main categories: 1.) Increasing awareness of STEM fields and careers 2.) Increasing participants’ beliefs about their ability in STEM 3.) Increasing participants’ sense of STEM identity Students and their families will have the opportunity to engage in engineering activities and learn about the organization's community involvement. Some of these activities will include building structures, automotive mechanics, aerobic science, and robotics! Dia de Ciencias allows young minds to discover how the world of STEM could bring them a career in the future and spark their imagination. This FREE event is located in Science Spectrum’s Atrium. Standard museum rates apply for those choosing to attend the museum. We look forward to seeing you for an exciting day full of hands-on STEM FUN! Visitors wanting to take in the full engineering experience can also see the giant screen film Dream Big: Engineering Our World showing this day only at the OMNI Theater. Tickets for the OMNI film Dream Big: Engineering Our World will be discounted on this day at a special rate of $5.00 per person.
