Description

Law professor Allison Clayton and her students at Texas Tech University, home to Lubbock's acclaimed Innocence Project clinic, work to expose one of West Texas’s most notorious wrongful convictions in the documentary, Night in West Texas. Peabody and Critics Choice-winning and Emmy-nominated journalist Deborah S Esquenazi’s film follows the extraordinary partnership among the Innocence Project of Texas, the Odessa Police Department, and the Ector County District Attorney’s Office as they reexamine the 1981 murder of Father Patrick Ryan and fight to free James Harry Reyos, a gay Apache man imprisoned for nearly four decades for a crime he did not commit.
