📅 Join Us in the brand new Chamber Co-lab for the 12th Annual Go Blue Lubbock County Campaign Kickoff!
Mark your calendars for April 2nd as we come together to launch the Go Blue Lubbock County campaign in honor of National Child Abuse Awareness Month.
In partnership with the South Plains Coalition for Child Abuse Prevention, this year’s theme, “How Are the Children?”, challenges us to bring child abuse and neglect out of the shadows and into the spotlight where real change can happen.
Why should you attend?
🔹 Help raise awareness about child abuse and neglect in our community
🔹 Show support for the children and families affected
🔹 Learn how you can make a difference
We encourage everyone to wear blue throughout April and spark conversations about why we stand for Lubbock’s children. Learn more about the significance of the blue ribbon here: https://pafsa.org/history-of-the-blue-ribbon/
🚨 The Reality:
🔹 Lubbock County is one of Texas' "hot spots" for child abuse and neglect
🔹 Over the past decade, nearly 10,000 children have been confirmed victims of abuse & neglect
🔹 22 children have lost their lives to abuse in our community
🔹 In 2023, Lubbock’s child abuse rate was 9.4 victims per 1,000 children—far above the state average of 7.4
👕 Wear blue. Spread awareness. Take action. Our children’s safety is the most urgent issue we face as a community. Let’s stand together and make a difference!
