Description
Experience Sense-ational World at the Science Spectrum on March 28th & 29th! March 28th: 1:00pm-5:00pm March 29th: 10:00am-6:00pm This interactive play event invites guests to explore the eight senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, vestibular (balance), proprioception (body awareness), and interoception (internal body signals)—through hands-on activities and immersive environments. Guests can experiment all weekend long with light and shadow, sounds, textured pathways, scent stations, and balance challenges to discover how each sense shapes daily experiences. Engaging displays explain how the brain receives and processes sensory information to support movement, emotions, attention, and social participation. Designed for all ages, these interactive activities encourage curiosity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of how we perceive and interact with the world around us. Enjoy these activities: Match that Scent Station Challenge Your Balance Shadow Shapes Make Some Noise Guess that Object And More! By attending this event, you can help further research in the Lubbock community. Kristen Green is a third-year occupational therapy student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and is currently completing her Capstone experience with the Science Spectrum. Her Capstone project focuses on developing a web-based resource designed to help parents and caregivers identify their child’s sensory needs.
