Description
The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce invites the business community to meet new Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec at a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 15 at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center on the Texas Tech campus.
This event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
Schovanec, who officially began his duties as president on August 1, has served the university as provost since December 2013 and was interim president from July 2012 through March 2013.
During his time as provost, he helped strengthen Texas Tech’s position as a leading national research university. Tech was recognized by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education as a Tier One university in the Highest Research Activity category in 2016, and was also recently reaffirmed for accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
