Campaign Director - Ronald McDonald House Charities
JOB SUMMARY
This Lubbock-based position holds overall responsibility for the daily management of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest’s House capital campaign. The Campaign Director will provide support to RMHCSW’s President & CEO, Director of Development; Capital Campaign Counsel; Capital Campaign Leadership and Committee; and Board of Trustees. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required. CFRE designation preferred.
- Minimum five years of fundraising experience with a focus on major gifts and capital campaign management.
- Experience working with Board members.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and donor databases (Donor Perfect CRM preferred.)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and deadlines under pressure.
- Demonstrated success handling confidential information and managing complex relationships with diverse stakeholders, including clients, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
- Valid Texas driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
- This position is Lubbock-based. Therefore, residents of Lubbock, Texas are preferred.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel, attend evening events, and occasionally lift/carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, stop, lift, reach, kneel, and drive day and night. Walking is the predominant physical activity throughout the day. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection, Research & Analysis
- Proactively collects, interprets, and analyzes data on prospective and existing donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, family and donor-advised funds, trusts, and government agencies.
- Conducts in-depth research, particularly across the local and West Texas region, to assess donor capacity and interest in RMHCSW and the Lubbock project using various tools (e.g., internet databases, print publications, U.S. Census, etc.).
- Monitors news and trends in relevant sectors, such as business, healthcare, philanthropy, and local/regional affairs, to help inform donor cultivation strategies.
- Collaborates with President & CEO and RMHCSW staff to gather and assess programming data to align donor interests with organizational needs.
- Coordinates, writes, and presents President & CEO, Capital Campaign Leadership, and Campaign Committee members with the necessary donor research, biographical and briefing materials, and strategic recommendations for prospect engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, in collaboration with Campaign Counsel and, as needed, with the RMHCSW Development department.
- Works collaboratively with Campaign Counsel to cultivate identified prospects across giving sectors, develop strategic prospect action plans, and prepare solicitation proposals and grant requests.
- Participates in donor solicitations, as appropriate, and assists with volunteer training for campaign initiatives.
- Presents information in a variety of written formats, including reports, summaries, and abstracts to advance the organization and capital campaign.
- Manages, updates, and queries donor records in RMHCSW’s Development and campaign database (Donor Perfect CRM system).
- Coordinates with the President & CEO, Campaign Counsel, and Development and Finance departments on the routine preparation, generation, and distribution of system reports with analysis, interpretation, and tracking of campaign progress for Campaign Leadership, the Campaign Committee, and the Board.
- Works collaboratively with RMHCSW’s Development department and manages campaign-related gift solicitation tracking, timely gift processing and acknowledgements, stewardship and public recognition, and any other campaign-related processes, as appropriate.
- Assists President & CEO and RMHCSW’s Development and Finance departments with campaign reconciliation.
Campaign Communications
- Works closely with Campaign Counsel and RMCHSW Communications department (and/or external marketing/communications and graphic design vendors) to develop solicitation proposals, grant requests, collateral materials, and campaign marketing/communication content for print, web, and social media.
- Works collaboratively throughout the campaign with Campaign Counsel to organize and manage donor cultivation and recognition events, develop and manage stewardship efforts, and integrate campaign milestones into RMHCSW’s broader public relations and outreach programs.
- Assists with securing and tracking naming opportunities and implementing physical named donor recognition on site.
- Manages campaign calendar, meeting logistics, and preparation of campaign materials.
- Ensures prospect, donor, and campaign data is accurately recorded and tracked in electronic and hard copy files. Manages the campaign record keeping.
- Manages gift tracking, acknowledgment and pledge-payment invoicing processes, and campaign-related communications.
- Works with Campaign Counsel to strategize and present any recommended revisions to the fundraising plan, as needed, to meet goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK/SALARY
This is a full-time exempt position, 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday. Hours/days of duty may vary to meet the needs of donors, guests, and volunteers, up to and including weekends and holidays. Salary is competitive and negotiable.
